Community Social Volunteer (Yarns & country tunes), Hammond At Home, Merrylands Spread Joy, by joining our Volunteer Team Got an hour to spare and a love for good yarns and country tunes? We're looking for a friendly volunteer to visit a gentleman with a big heart and a lifetime of stories. Once a fireman, he’s a fan of George Strait, Clint Black, footy, has a pet cat, and used to enjoy lawn bowls. Originally from WA, now living in Sydney, he’s hoping for some company and conversation each week. Volunteering as a social visitor can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit and for yourself. Regular visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and help older people feel less isolated. Your visits will bring great joy to the clients you are matched with. HammondCare is an independent Christian charity dedicated to improving the quality of life for people in need. We partner with volunteers to enhance the lives of the clients cared for by HammondCare. HammondCare provides The Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme, funded by the Australian Government, to promote links between elderly people and volunteers in their local community.
