Job Description As a Workday Payroll Tester, you will be responsible for leading and executing end‑to‑end testing across configuration validation, payroll calculations, integrations, and reporting to ensure system accuracy, reliability, and compliance. The role involves developing and maintaining detailed test plans, test cases, and test data aligned with business and regulatory requirements, and conducting System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for payroll‑related processes. You will validate gross‑to‑net calculations, superannuation, tax, and statutory deductions, and verify interfaces between Workday and external systems, including finance, time tracking, and banking. The position requires close collaboration with Payroll SMEs, HRIS, and technical teams to ensure timely defect resolution and successful delivery outcomes. Additionally, you will be responsible for tracking and reporting test progress, managing risks, supporting parallel payroll runs, and performing post‑go‑live validations, ensuring full compliance with Australian payroll regulations, including ATO, Fair Work, and Superannuation laws. Qualifications Extensive testing experience with strong hands‑on expertise in Workday Payroll Strong understanding of payroll processes, configuration, and legislative requirements. Experience testing Workday integrations, EIBs, and Core Connector. Hands‑on experience with defect management tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, HP ALM). Ability to create clear, reusable test scripts and documentation under tight deadlines. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Excellent stakeholder communication and coordination skills. Experience working in Agile or hybrid project environments. Experience in Workday HCM or Time Tracking modules. Familiarity with finance/payroll interfaces and data migration testing.
