ROLE You’ll work across our own residential building projects, as well as carrying out carpentry scope for other well-respected builders (primarily in Melbourne’s inner north). This is a full-time role, with immediate start availability and salary is subject to experience. In this hands-on leadership role: you’ll be on the tools daily, while also guiding an apprentice, keeping projects moving efficiently, and ensuring uncompromising quality. DAY-TO-DAY Read and interpret plans, organise work sequences and ensure materials are ready when required Execute all aspects of carpentry (frame, lock-up, fix and fit-off) to a standard well above industry minimums Resolve architectural details with a solutions-focused mindset Lead and mentor apprentices, teaching them to become exceptional carpenters Coordinate with builders, consultants and subcontractors to keep projects on track Liaise with suppliers via email to organise material and deliveries Maintain a safe, tidy and professional site at all times REQUIREMENTS Qualified carpenter (Certificate III in Carpentry) 3+ years’ post-apprenticeship residential carpentry (experience in alterations and additions is a strong advantage) Must have full Australian working rights (citizenship or permanent residency) Hold a valid white card Hold a valid driver's licence Demonstrate a strong understanding of building codes, ensuring compliance with architectural documentation and industry standards Confident with both traditional methods and complex architectural detailing Can navigate the challenges of complex renovations and work well under pressure Values reliability and professionalism - a driven, highly motivated individual Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to work autonomously while also leading a small team Own a ute/van with roof racks and towing ability, plus all tools required to work independently Maintain professionalism and respect at all times; clean and well-presented on site, considerate towards colleagues, clients and collaborators Committed to a positive, harassment-free workplace SUSS Website: jobehomes.com.au Instagram: @jobehomes Builds featured in The Local Project and The Design Files APPLY If you’re a natural leader who takes pride in millimetre-perfect work, thrives under pressure, and wants to build better homes with a team that values the craft as much as you do, get in touch.
