This is a Graduate Trainee – Debt Capital Markets role with Societe Generale based in Sydney, NSW, AU Societe Generale Role Seniority- graduate Reference ODS Responsibilities Build and manage strong and sustainable client relationships with target issuers in Australia and New Zealand, namely corporates and financial institutions Identify capital market trends and address clients' needs in terms of raising and managing capital in the debt capital markets Provide best-in-class advisory to the client base Provide views on macro-economic trends and what that means for clients Represent DCM in all internal dialogues Your main tasks will include Generating pitch material that is clear, structured, compelling, and comprehensive in addressing clients' needs Leading the preparation of marketing documents (market updates, peer analysis, secondary pricing performance, primary pricing indications, sales memorandums) Monitoring primary market developments (recent transactions, pipeline, and market rumours) Preparing the update of relevant capital markets data Assisting in the end-to-end execution of transactions Producing bespoke pieces of analysis for clients Performing regular research on latest product developments and potential / existing business opportunities Qualifications, Experience & Knowledge Required University degree in a relevant discipline (Law, Commerce, Finance, Accounting or Engineering) Post graduate qualifications considered favourably No previous experience necessary; however previous DCM or Investment Banking experience would be considered favourably Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills Ability to articulate complex concepts in both written and verbal format Behavioral Competencies Required Ability to manage self in prioritising tasks and managing competing deadlines Ability to work within a dynamic environment with stakeholders across the fixed income chain from Sydney to Singapore, Hong Kong, London, Paris, and New York Working (including remotely) with people from diverse, international backgrounds Ability to work in a small team and take ownership of responsibilities Fast learning, flexible with an appetite to learn Functional Relationships Internal: staff from business divisions and support functions locally, regionally, and globally External: clients and external advisors Behavioral Skills Client – Client focus: I put long‑term relationship with our clients at the centre of my actions, whatever my position Team Spirit – Collective mindset: I favour the team's interest over my own results Team Spirit – Open mindset: I listen and share my views and my expertise in an open mode Responsibility – Risk awareness: I am constantly on the lookout for risks Responsibility – Performance: I strive for high performance Responsibility – Accountability: I make decisions in my scope of responsibilities Our Culture At Societe Generale, we live by our four core values of commitment, responsibility, team spirit and innovation. We are currently looking for a Graduate Trainee – Debt Capital Markets to join us on a full‑time fixed‑term basis for 24 months. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and growing team and get hands‑on experience within a fast‑paced, results‑focused, global organisation. The successful candidate will gain experience in all stages of a capital markets transaction and will have an active role in a client‑facing team. This includes having exposure to working in a fast‑moving industry, where the scope of work will cover the wide range of a financing business line activity, from marketing and origination through to execution and closing.
