Lead complex haematology and transfusion testing with a high degree of independence, validate critical results, provide clinical advice, and champion quality improvement, staff education and advanced instrumentation support within a collaborative multidisciplinary laboratory team. What you'll do Apply independent scientific judgement in the analysis of patient specimens leading to the verification and validation of test results and the provision of advice to the clinical unit where appropriate. Undertake diagnostic testing and related duties following Pathology Queensland established accredited protocols and standards within a multidisciplinary team in accordance with prescribed professional and ethical standards Contribute to the development of scientific practices, procedures and protocols within the diagnostic work Responsible for initiating, planning and evaluating quality and service improvement activities to continually improve patient care. Provide professional advice and educational forums to local staff and Rockhampton Group Laboratories to improve quality service needs. About you We are searching for someone with: Demonstrated knowledge, expertise and skill in the delivery of scientific services within a multidiscipline laboratory. Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills including conflict resolution, negotiation and influencing competencies. Demonstrated ability to participate in a multidisciplinary team and contribute a range of diagnostic skills relevant to the discipline including the supervision of Quality Assurance activities in the Rockhampton group of Laboratories. Demonstrated ability to manage a complex caseload and apply established principles to a multidiscipline service with provision of results and clinical advice in a client focused manner. Demonstrated ability to identify, develop and implement quality and service improvement activities in accordance with NATA/ISO accreditation / certification. It will be a condition of employment for this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated against one or more of the following vaccine preventable diseases during their employment: Hepatitis A & B, Measles, Mumps, Pertussis, Rubella and Varicella.
