Role Description As a Disability Support Worker you will provide person‑centred support to individuals with disabilities, promoting their independence, community participation and overall wellbeing. This role requires the application of skills and knowledge acquired through relevant qualifications and/or experience, with the ability to exercise discretion and judgment under general supervision. Key Responsibilities Assist clients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting and mobility support. Support clients to engage in community activities, attend appointments and participate in social and recreational events. Facilitate the development of clients’ life skills to enhance their independence and quality of life. Maintain accurate records of client progress, incidents and other relevant information in accordance with organisational policies. Liaise effectively with clients, families and other stakeholders to ensure coordinated and responsive support. Adhere to health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe environment for clients and staff. Qualifications & Experience Demonstrated experience in providing support to individuals with disabilities. Strong understanding of person‑centred practices and the ability to apply them effectively. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Current First Aid and CPR certification. Valid Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check. Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module. Own a vehicle, hold a valid driver’s licence and have current car insurance. Certificate III or IV in Disability, or an equivalent qualification. Experience with behaviour support strategies and managing challenging behaviours. Knowledge of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and its operational guidelines. Proficiency in using digital tools for documentation and communication. Employment Conditions Casual Employment: Engagement is on a casual basis, with hours and shifts offered flexibly according to organisational requirements and employee availability. Employees can choose shifts that fit their schedules. Remuneration: In accordance with the SCHADS Award, at the appropriate classification level, with the applicable casual loading and any relevant allowances.
