Official Visitor to Orana Youth Justice Centre Apply for the Official Visitor to Orana Youth Justice Centre role at NSW Department of Communities and Justice . Targeted recruitment: preference will be given to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander candidates. Your Role The Inspector of Custodial Services (ICS) oversees the Official Visitor Program. Official Visitors resolve enquiries and complaints, monitor conditions and treatment of young people in custodial centres, and submit reports to Parliament. Visits occur once a fortnight for up to four years. What You’ll Do Visit assigned centres regularly to speak with children, staff and management. Record and report on complaints, enquiries and the centre environment. Facilitate resolution of local issues where possible. Submit reports to the Minister, Inspector of Custodial Services and relevant authorities. Maintain independence, objectivity and confidentiality at all times. What We’re Looking For Preference for Aboriginal people residing in the region. Basic computer literacy and access to email/internet. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to remain impartial and act with integrity. Cultural awareness and experience working with Aboriginal and diverse communities. Essential Requirements Report‑writing and computer skills with internet access. Willingness to travel for training or corporate activities 1–2 times per year. How To Apply A current resume.
