Contract from 06/01/2026 until 08/01/2027 possible extension paying approx. $132/hr Brisbane CBD Location with flexibility to WFH 2 days per week Lead the development and implementation of a new asset lifecycle condition assessment (ALCA) framework Our client, Department of Education’s Infrastructure Services Division (ISD), are currently seeking an Infrastructure Asset Manager for an initial contract until 08/01/2027. ISD is responsible for providing infrastructure-related services to our schools, early childhood services and corporate clients by effectively managing the Department’s asset base and the annual delivery portfolio of infrastructure capital works projects and maintenance activities. In the last decade, the scale of the demands on the ISD have increased significantly. The annual delivery portfolio has increased to over $1.7 billion per year in 2024–25 with over 2,000 projects in‑flight, along with a growing and ageing educational infrastructure asset base with a replacement cost of more than $40 billion. As illustrated by maturity assessments, audits and other reviews in recent years, maturity of business practices across ISD need to be uplifted to effectively address the increased demands and expectations. To enable the above, there are a number of business transformation initiatives underway, or being initiated, to uplift the maturity of business practices that underpin service delivery of Infrastructure Services Division. This role is specifically focused on leading the development and implementation of an improved asset lifecycle condition assessment framework and process, alongside providing expert advice and delivering on both business‑as‑usual functions and transformation initiatives. Lead the Asset Lifecycle Condition Assessment uplift project: lead the development and implementation of a new asset lifecycle condition assessment (ALCA) framework, ensuring alignment with the Departments strategic objectives and operational needs. Identify optimal system solutions for ongoing management and use of ALCA information, that will eventually integrate with the department’s systems. oversee the end‑to‑end procurement process for a rolling ALCA program. lead the development and implementation of an effective delivery model to ensure timely, cost‑efficient and high‑quality outcomes. act as a critical link with the stakeholders to ensure the successful development and integration of condition assessment information. Support business‑as‑usual functions: provide guidance and technical advice on sound asset management practices. implement asset management practices and improvement activities to ensure infrastructure assets are managed in an integrated and effective manner. provide support to, or lead, the resolution of complex issues related to infrastructure asset management. contribute to the development, and implementation of asset management strategies for the asset portfolio in line with ISO55000 standards for the efficient and effective delivery of asset management systems and asset information management to achieve the required business outcomes in service delivery. promotion of a culture that encourages best practice by integrating asset management into normal business practices. engage and collaborate with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders on the Division’s built infrastructure asset management practices, internal staff, other contractors, other Divisions of the Department (e.g. corporate procurement) and other Government Agencies. in consultation with key stakeholders, develop asset management artefacts for infrastructure management related business transformation initiatives, including options analysis, prioritisation and sequencing of project tasks, project resourcing requirements, project cost estimates, project schedules, etc. undertake and complete identified work packages for infrastructure management related business transformation initiatives. Provide strategic advice to the Division’s senior executives on matters related to infrastructure asset management. Qualifications required Whilst not mandatory, a relevant qualification would be well regarded such as degree related Asset Management (such as Engineering, GIS, Business, Finance, etc) or other technical qualifications related to Asset Management (such as from Asset Management Council, IPWEA, etc). Essential Skills and Experience required Have extensive infrastructure asset management knowledge and experience, such as: Designing and implementing condition assessment frameworks/ programs Contemporary strategic asset management policies, frameworks, strategies, plans and systems Defining asset data standards and hierarchies Experience investigating, researching and analysing a range of data, process and systems issues across the Asset Lifecycle Desirable – Have experience with asset management for buildings and associated infrastructure Desirable – Have experience leading, or being involved in, business transformation programs/projects and/or continuous improvement initiatives in complex organisational environments with low levels of maturity To submit your application, in strict confidence, please submit your resume in Word Format using the appropriate link quoting reference No. .
