Join to apply for the Pastoral Care Coordinator role at HammondCare About The Role Reporting to the Head of Pastoral Care, the Pastoral Care Coordinator provides pastoral care, leadership and support to clients, their families, team members and pastoral care volunteers. The role supports clients, who are in HammondCare’s palliative care service, by visiting them in their own homes across the Northshore. The role requires access to a car (mileage reimbursed), use of a pool vehicle may be available. The role is permanent part-time working 3 days per week (22.8 hours pw) (one day must include a Wednesday). What We Can Offer You NFP salary packaging ($15,900 tax free) plus meals and entertainment benefit (up to $2,650 tax free) Additional leave purchase options and 14 weeks paid parental leave pro-rata Flexible working options, including hybrid arrangements Discounts on everyday products and services Discounted healthcare memberships - access to network of fitness centres and pools for employees and families Free access to independent counselling support for employees and families Health & Wellbeing programmes Reward & Recognition programmes Referral bonuses Career and professional development opportunities Responsibilities Provide pastoral care and support to clients, relevant families and staff of HammondCare Be the point of contact for relevant internal and external support/referral services Act as a role model for staff and as an advocate for HammondCare’s Mission, Motivation and Mission in Action, and its Christian values Share pastoral expertise and coach staff to support the spiritual needs of clients Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the client’s emotional/spiritual needs and goals and to the development and ongoing evaluation of a care plan Facilitate regular carer support groups Network with other religious leaders and services and coordinate relevant care, resources and group activities Strategically develop tailored resources, ideas and activities to enhance the spiritual and emotional wellbeing of clients and families, collaborating with management, staff and volunteers Communicate and build trust by developing relationships with staff and volunteers Liaise with managers, case managers and attend staff and case management meetings as required Training staff on spiritual care and wellbeing Leading and training a team of pastoral care volunteers Working and collaborating in a Pastoral Care team About You Commitment to engage and align with HammondCare’s Christian Mission, Motivation and Mission in Action Strong understanding and experience of people living at home with life-limiting illness including dementia, the impact on carers, and journeys of grief and bereavement Experience in palliative care - desired Strong personal and active Christian faith and church involvement Theological /Pastoral Care qualifications and experience Demonstrated capacity to pastorally care for and enhance the wellbeing of those in need Highly developed communication skills including listening, compassion and empathy Strong administrative and computer skills Access to a car, Australian’s driver licence and comprehensive car insurance To Apply If you are ready to make a difference with HammondCare, Apply Now For any specific queries please contact Pre-Employment Checks All short-listed applicants for these positions will be asked to consent to a criminal record check and reference checks.
