Liquid is looking for a Communications Manager to join our MarketingTeam. At Liquid, we help organisations tackle complex problems and shape best possible futures. We’re looking for a Communications Manager who brings confidence, maturity and a considered writing craft to how we communicate our ideas and impact. You guide how our story is told, set the tone for clear and purposeful communication across our channels, and create content that supports meaningful work and positive outcomes. This is a role for someone who is strategic in their planning, decisive in their judgement, and exceptional in their ability to communicate complex ideas with clarity and care. As guardian of the Liquid tone of voice, you ensure our purpose is expressed consistently. You set the standard for thoughtful content and you help the team communicate with confidence. Key responsibilities Create communication strategies that strengthen the Liquid brand and express our purpose with clarity and intention. Shape narratives for major initiatives and lead the development of thought leadership, capability content and stories about our work. Oversee and enhance Liquid website content, ensuring it’s clear, accurate and optimised to reflect our evolving work and expertise. Use data to inform insights on the effectiveness of content campaigns. Guide ongoing improvements to the website through purposeful updates to structure, messaging and content. Review and approve social media copy that aligns with the Liquid voice, supporting the Marketing Coordinator who manages writing, design and publishing. Write speeches, presentations and talking points for senior leaders, and prepare their submissions and content for conferences and events. Lead content for Future Led (panel events), including shaping themes, preparing speaker material, coordinating event communication and writing post-event articles. Develop media activity that builds visibility for Liquid, including media releases, enquiries and opportunities. Work closely with Sales and Business Development to create high quality sales assets, collateral and pitch content that support new opportunities. Create compelling content that strengthens Liquid proposals, presentations and submissions for business development activity. Work closely with internal teams to elevate the clarity and quality of communication across the studio. About you You’re a confident and mature communicator who brings strong judgement, empathy and craft to your work. You write with clarity and intent, and you know how to make complex ideas feel accessible, thoughtful and grounded. You’re comfortable taking ownership, guiding others and setting high expectations for communication across a creative and purposeful organisation. To be successful, you’ll need: At least eight years of experience in communications, content writing, journalism or a related field. Exceptional writing, editing and strategic communication skills. Strong problem‑solving skills, and to enjoy working with teams to understand obstacles and find pathways to get things done. Openness to sharing work and receiving feedback, including from senior stakeholders and colleagues. Confidence in making decisions and the ability to guide others toward considered choice. Flexibility in how you work and comfort operating in an environment where priorities can shift. The ability to work autonomously to a high standard while collaborating well with colleagues across the business. Experience working with health or government sectors, or the ability to write confidently for these audiences. Experience preparing government submissions such as tenders, or a willingness to learn the process. Experience writing for the digital sector, or an interest in developing this capability. A portfolio that shows strategic thinking, strong craft and meaningful content creation.
