The Redfern – Assistant Venue Manager (2IC) Join the Team Behind One of Redfern’s Most Iconic Pubs The Redfern is a vibrant neighbourhood pub known for its contemporary food offering, great drinks, warm community feel and a constant hum of energy across its multiple spaces. With a mix of locals, after-work crowds and weekend groups, The Redfern has become a cornerstone of the area’s hospitality scene. We are now seeking an experienced and motivated 2IC / Assistant Venue Manager to support day-to-day operations and help lead our growing team. The Role As the 2IC of The Redfern, you will work closely with on-site owners and the Venue Manager to ensure the smooth running of the pub. You’ll be a hands‑on leader with solid hospitality experience, confident in stepping up to run the venue in the manager’s absence. With three sister venues nearby, you’ll also become part of a broader, supportive local hospitality group—offering growth, mentorship and opportunities to expand your skill set. Key Responsibilities Support daily venue operations, including opening and closing procedures Uphold all NSW Liquor & Gaming compliance requirements Assist with staff recruitment, training, rostering and performance management Maintain The Redfern’s safe, welcoming and energetic atmosphere Monitor stock, ordering and supplier coordination Support cash handling, reporting and other administrative tasks Contribute to events, promotions and building community engagement Lead by example—positive attitude, professional standards, and genuine hospitality Requirements Current NSW RSA & RCG Valid NSW Competency Card Previous experience in a supervisory or management role within hospitality Strong knowledge of NSW liquor legislation and compliance obligations Excellent leadership, communication and problem‑solving skills Ability to work nights, weekends and public holidays Passion for pub culture, neighbourhood community, and delivering memorable experiences What We Offer Competitive salary package On‑site, hands‑on owners who support your development and value genuine teamwork Career growth across multiple venues in the local group A dynamic, fast‑paced and friendly working environment Staff perks and discounts If you’re a proactive hospitality leader who thrives in a busy pub setting and is ready to step up in a respected local venue, we’d love to hear from you. #J-18808-Ljbffr
