Assistant Accountant (Maternity Leave Cover) We are an innovative company that develops lighting, environmental, and energy control systems for large-scale commercial building projects. Some of our key projects in Melbourne include Monash Children’s Hospital, Bosch Headquarters, and Peter Doherty Institute Parkville. Candidate Outline A solid grasp of accounting principles. Intermediate knowledge of Excel, accounting software and ERP. Capacity to operate in a deadline driven environment. Previous experience in an Accounting/Bookkeeping role. A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience. Experience with SAP preferred. A customer centric mindset which you apply to internal and external customers. Position Outline This is a 12 month opportunity for a maternity leave cover. The role offers an important function the finance team. Responsibilities will include daily accounting tasks, general journal postings, reconciliations, cash management, and providing assistance with month-end reporting. This role also has responsibility for the daily Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable processes and reporting, including working to ensure key KPIs are met. Responsibilities Ensuring that financial data is correct and complete within the financial and reporting systems to ensure that reporting and analysis reflects an accurate financial picture. Collaborating with other business teams to work on various projects. Processing customer orders and invoices. Coordinating with warehouse regarding stock and pick lists. Managing goods returns. Managing accounts payable and invoice verification. Processing payments and invoices accurately and within expected time periods. Verifying financial statements, ledgers and accounts and making corrections where appropriate. Reviewing data and producing reports from finance/operating systems. Supporting the rest of the accounts teams as required. Supporting warehouse with pick and packing. Assisting with office management tasks. Other projects and duties as required.
