The Offer Attractive working conditions in CENTRAL BALLARAT Working closely with the business partners Your career aspirations encouraged and full support for further training Opportunities for professional development and career advancement 6 monthly conferences in Melbourne Regular in-house training sessions Employee Assistance Program Quarterly staff functions Weekly team meeting Monthly team lunches Wellness programs About The Role The role offers exposure to a wide variety of tasks associated with the various accounting and taxation needs of their clients and includes, but is not limited to: Leading a small team to achieve Company driven goals and directives Exposure to a variety of industries, including medical, professional services, trade, agriculture, manufacturing, hospitality, retail and property Assistance with and responsibility for the preparation of financial statements and income tax returns for clients including companies, trusts, partnerships and individuals Assistance with the preparation of Business Activity Statements and Instalment Activity Statements Preparation of Fringe Benefits Tax returns and Payroll tax returns The ideal candidate will have At least 5 years prior experience in Accounting with a strong academic track record Exceptional communication skills and leadership qualities to motivate and engage a small team Strong understanding of Australian tax law and accounting concepts Strong understanding of fundamental business concepts Excellent analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills A high focus on providing excellent client service Excellent time management and attention to detail A positive attitude and the ability to work well with others Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to tax issues A strong work ethic and initiative Commitment to further training and professional development What we’d love from you Minimum 5+ years' experience in an Accounting practice Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Commerce Ability to identify how to maximise returns for clients and be able to understand deductibility of certain items Strong proficiency in accounting and tax software (MYOB, Xero and Intuit QuickBooks will be highly regarded) Be careful - Don’t provide your bank or credit card details when applying for jobs.
