Job Description The Student Learning Advisor works collaboratively with the Student Counsellors, Student Services and Academic teams in the development and provision of student learning support to the diverse student body. The key aspects of the role include : providing students with program / course advice, academic policies and procedures, program progression, transition to University and other study related matters. This position is based on the Gold Coast campus and will be 4 days a week. Qualifications Essential Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or equivalent practical experience in a related role within higher education industry or similar Commitment to providing a quality customer service to students with a strong focus on accurate and timely advice Experience in the development and delivery of student academic support programs, preferably in a tertiary environment Demonstrated evidence of the ability to teach academic skills to individuals and groups from diverse backgrounds, and to assess academic skills literacy Highly developed oral and written communication skills with a proven ability to consult and liaise with a wide range of stakeholders Ability to work with minimal supervision and to manage conflicting priorities and meet deadlines Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment and contribute to the development and delivery of strategies aimed at improving student learning outcomes Demonstrated ability to plan and deliver a range of workshops to support student success Competency using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and willingness and ability to quickly adapt to new computer systems / programs Desirable Experience in working in a higher education environment Qualification or experience in teaching students English as a second language Knowledge of Education Services for Overseas Students Act 2000 and National Code (2018) Additional Information Diversity Equity and Inclusion At Navitas we promote and embrace an inclusive and diverse workforce.
