Minimum qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience. 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages. 3 years of experience in testing, maintaining, or launching software products. 1 year of experience with software design and architecture. Experience in working with one of the following: distributed systems, back‑end services, iOS/Android/Web development, data engineering, or machine learning. Preferred qualifications Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field. 5 years of experience with data structures and algorithms. 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role. The Geo team also enables developers to use the power of Google Maps platforms to enhance their apps and websites. As they plot a course for the future of mapping, they are solving complex computer science problems, designing beautiful and intuitive product experiences, and improving our understanding of the real world. Responsibilities Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency). Write and test product or system development code. Lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to select among available technologies. Design, develop, and maintain services across the full‑stack like back‑ends (e.g., Java), Android (e.g., Kotlin, Java), iOS (e.g., ObjC), and shared libraries (e.g., C++).
