About the OpportunityWith new programs coming online, Austal are looking for a Naval Architect to join our Design team in Melbourne, VIC. The successful candidate will be a qualified Naval Architect with excellent communication skills and a high level of commitment to assist with the design of our projects.Key objectives & responsibilities includeDesign vessel local and global structure, equipment foundations, hydrostatic and stability calculations, resistance, and powering calculations.Preparation of design and drawings including calculations and reports.Selection and requisitions for hull, fire, and safety equipment.Design in accordance with technical requirements (Specification, contract, and relevant rules).Design in accordance with Austal processes for safety, quality, budget, and risk mitigation.Provide Design support through production, commissioning, and delivery.
