Maintenance Assistant

As a Maintenance Assistant at the Great Keppel Island Hideaway, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and upkeep of this picturesque island resort. Working as part of a dedicated team, you will be responsible for a variety of maintenance and handyperson duties to maintain the high standards expected by our guests. This full-time position is based on the beautiful Great Keppel Island in Queensland. On-island accommodation is provided for this remote location role. What you'll be doing Perform general maintenance tasks such as painting, minor repairs, and preventative maintenance Perform the refuse collection and recycling duties on site Assist with the maintenance and upkeep of resort facilities, equipment, and infrastructure Provide support for various resort operations as needed, including event setup and cleaning Respond promptly to maintenance requests and work orders from guests and staff Collaborate with the maintenance team to identify and address any issues or areas for improvement Ensure all work is carried out safely and in compliance with relevant regulations and company policies What we're looking for Strong practical skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve a variety of maintenance issues A keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to problem‑solving Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team A positive attitude and a commitment to delivering customer service Entry level candidates are welcome, with no minimum years of maintenance or handyperson experience required Australian work rights are required for this position What we offer At the Great Keppel Island Hideaway, we are dedicated to creating a supportive and rewarding work environment for our employees.
