Council of the City of Sydney, Österreich Mokum Vollzeit

James Dunlop Textiles Group is an internationally recognised wholesaler of premium furnishing textiles, known for innovation, quality and design excellence across Australasia and the USA. Our clients include leading furniture retailers, designers, architects and manufacturers — and we’re now looking for an enthusiastic Textile Designer to join our vibrant Alexandria studio. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a creative, collaborative and design-driven environment. Whether you’re an experienced designer or looking to build on a strong foundation in textile or surface design, this 12-month fixed-term role offers the chance to work across three iconic brands — Mokum, James Dunlop and Zepel, and contribute meaningfully to their product stories. About the Role As a Textile Designer, you will play a key role in ensuring creative continuity within our Design Studio throughout a maternity leave period. You’ll support the design and development of our product pipeline, contributing to concept creation, colour development, construction sourcing, and design administration. You will work closely with our Senior Designer and our Mokum Design Director and collaborate across the wider team to bring beautifully resolved and commercially successful collections to life. Key Responsibilities Support the sourcing, design and development of drapery, upholstery and wallpaper across our three brands. Collaborate with the design team on print design, weave development and collection building. Drive colour development and contribute to the visual handwriting across the brands. Assist with testing, sampling and product release preparations. Contribute to marketing initiatives including collection storytelling, product documentation and visual assets. Provide technical information to Sales and Customer Service regarding performance standards and product compliance. Participate in mentoring and coaching sessions to deepen brand and product knowledge. Manage design administration, workflows and deadlines with accuracy and efficiency. What We’re Looking For You will thrive in this role if you are creative, detail-oriented and passionate about textiles. We’re looking for someone who brings: 3+ years’ experience in the textiles industry (print design experience highly regarded). Tertiary qualification in Design — ideally Textile Design. Strong proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop (advanced preferred). Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Strong administrative and numerical ability with high attention to detail. Ability to balance autonomy with strong teamwork. Why You’ll Love Working With Us Be part of a globally recognised design brand. Supportive team environment with opportunities to learn from industry experts. Gain exposure across three unique and iconic brands. Play a meaningful role in shaping upcoming collections. If this sounds like the perfect next step in your career, we’d love to hear from you. Apply now with your cover letter and CV. Be careful — don’t provide your bank or credit card details when applying for jobs. Don't transfer any money or complete suspicious online surveys. If you see something suspicious, report this job ad. #J-18808-Ljbffr
