Glass Furnace Operator and Glass Processing Company: Custom Glass Co - Prestons, South West Sydney, NSW About Us: Custom Glass Co is a well‑established glass company located in Prestons specialising in glass production and installation. Our business has seen strong and steady growth in recent years, and we now require the additional support of a Furnace Operator/Glass Processor. We collaborate with numerous builders on a variety of residential and commercial projects, kitchen companies, and the general glass trade. Job Description We are seeking a skilled Glass Polisher and a glass factory all‑rounder to join our team. The successful applicant will be responsible for setting and operating our Toughening Furnace and other processing duties. This role also involves the general upkeep of the machine and ensuring that all glass produced is ready for the waterjet and/or toughening. You may also be required to support other areas of production and help maintain a clean and safe working environment. Key Responsibilities Set and operate Toughening Furnace. Inspect glass products for defects and ensure they meet high quality standards. Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment. Provide general maintenance of the machine. Ensure all glass processed is ready for the next stage (waterjet or toughening). Assist with general cleaning and other machinery as needed. Collaborate closely with factory staff while maintaining the ability to work independently. Additional experience in Water jetting or CNC operating is highly desirable. Qualifications Previous experience operating glass processing machinery and handling glass is required. Strong ability to work independently. Driver's license is desirable but not essential. Forklift license is desirable but not essential. Experience in the building or construction industry is preferable but not essential. Strong work ethic, flexibility, and the ability to multitask.
