Transitional Year Fellow (College of Intensive Care Medicine), Queensland Health Temporary full-time Transitional Year Fellow (CICM) — Intensive Care Unit, Logan Hospital (Aug 2026–Aug 2027). This role provides graded clinical autonomy under consultant supervision, with significant responsibility for ICU medical education and simulation. Ideal for CICM trainees seeking intensive clinical exposure, teaching leadership and opportunities in quality improvement and research. Your new role: In this Transition Year Fellow position, you'll work as an integral member of a busy, evolving Intensive Care Unit with access to diverse case‑mix, hands‑on training, and consistent senior support. You will be trusted with increasing levels of autonomy while contributing to clinical care, education, and departmental initiatives. Key responsibilities include: Managing critically ill patients under senior supervision with increasing independent decision‑making. Leading clinical reviews, family discussions, and multidisciplinary coordination. Participating in education delivery, simulation sessions, and junior doctor teaching. Contributing to quality improvement, research, and service development projects. Supporting after‑hours ICU coverage as part of a structured, well‑supported roster. About you: You are a motivated CICM trainee ready to leverage your Transition Year to build depth in clinical practice, leadership, and collaborative care. You bring a proactive mindset, strong communication skills, and a commitment to delivering safe, high‑quality patient care. You will bring: CICM trainee status eligible for Transition Year appointment. Strong clinical judgment with the ability to manage complex, deteriorating patients. High‑level communication skills with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams. A collaborative, team‑focused approach with demonstrated professionalism. Commitment to teaching, simulation, and contributing to departmental improvement. Ability to work effectively in high‑pressure and fast‑changing clinical settings.
