BRIGHTER FUTURES Family Preservation CONC Family Development Worker located at Grafton 6 Month contract - 35 hours a week - SCHADS Level 4.4 Mid Richmond Neighbourhood Centre (administrative body for the Brighter Futures Family Preservation program and member of CONC) is a strong community-based organisation and a leader in the provision of services and programs within the areas of the Richmond Valley and surrounding locations, including NDIS, youth, aged care, family support, flood recovery and more. About the role Brighter Futures is a family preservation program that provides targeted support to vulnerable families with children aged unborn to 17 years of age. The aim of the program is to increase safety and reduce risks for children and their families, preventing them from entering the statutory child‑protection system. We are looking for a Family Development Worker who is conscientious, reliable and motivated about making a difference to children and their family’s lives. As a Family Development Worker you will be working with a dynamic team of experienced professionals who practice within an evidenced‑based and trauma‑informed framework. This position is based in the Brighter Futures Grafton office at the New School of Arts Neighbourhood House Inc. and will work across the local area of Clarence Valley. Brighter Futures Family Preservation (CONC) provides staff with a supportive work environment with regular supervision, debriefing and high‑quality training opportunities. Workers also have access to salary packaging options and the Employee Assistance Program. This position is a fixed‑term contract concluding on 30 June 2026. Any continuation beyond this date will be subject to the availability of ongoing funding. Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Social Science, Social Welfare, Psychology, Counselling, Youth Work or related fields Demonstrated case management experience Demonstrated minimum 2 years’ experience in working with children, families and/or people experiencing challenges in areas such as domestic and family violence, drug and alcohol misuse, parenting, disability, developmental/behavioural challenges and/or mental health/trauma. Demonstrated understanding of trauma‑informative, strengths‑based and child/family centered practices. Demonstrated experience in assessment‑based tools Demonstrated interpersonal skills that assist in developing and maintaining positive relationships with colleagues, clients and other stakeholders. Demonstrated experience working alongside CALD and/or Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples Current NSW or National driver’s licence.
