Database Administrator (90M ) Melbourne, Australia Salary: Including Superannuation We're looking for experienced Database Administrators/Engineers to join our client's team. You'll play a crucial role in the ongoing maintenance, support, and automation of our PostgreSQL database environments. This is a chance to ensure our systems are secure, resilient, and highly optimised, while also contributing to new feature development. Key Responsibilities Database Support: You'll handle day-to-day database support and maintenance, ensuring our multi-cloud PostgreSQL environments meet service level agreements (SLAs). Automation: You'll use Ansible to automate database operations, with an initial focus on our Crunchy PostgreSQL infrastructure. This includes developing, maintaining, and troubleshooting Unix Shell scripts to streamline workflows. Performance & Reliability: You will be responsible for the high availability, reliability, and performance of the database infrastructure through proactive maintenance and tuning. Collaboration: You'll work closely with other engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of automation and new features. Required Skills and Experience PostgreSQL Expertise: Strong background in PostgreSQL administration and engineering. Automation: Proven proficiency with Ansible for automation and deployment, as well as solid experience in Unix/Linux Shell scripting . Troubleshooting: Hands-on experience with database maintenance, troubleshooting, and performance tuning. System Integration: A strong understanding of how database components, scripts, and automation work together in an end-to-end system. Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
