The role We are keen to hear from Maternal Child Health Nurse professionals with a passion for the work we do. You will provide specialised support, care and education to enhance families’ parenting competencies. You will be responsible for improving parents' knowledge, skills and attitudes as well as building the ability of parents to meet their children's health, safety and developmental needs. The MCH Nurse EPC Development program is a 24‑week program offered to Maternal and Child Health nurses (Victorian registration) who are interested in engaging in a varied and dynamic learning program. The MCH Nurse EPC Development Program offers rotations over four clinical programs offered at QEC: Five-day Residential (including Telehealth) program, Day Stay, Residential Parenting Assessment and Skills Development Service (PASDS), and Assessment and Intake. The program involves active participation by the participant engaging in learning, reflective practice and supervision. The participant must set goals for each rotation and work towards achieving these goals in partnership with their clinical mentor. The participant is required to share their Maternal and Child Health nursing experience with QEC Clinicians. At the end of the program the participant is expected to participate in an evaluation process to assist in continual quality improvement.
