Our teams design, engineer and manufacture railway turnouts, crossings and special trackwork components for rail networks across Australia and the world. The Opportunity At Vossloh Switch Systems Australia we are seeking an Engineering Technician to join our Engineering team in the suburb of Epsom within the Bendigo Region. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will play a key role in providing technical and design support, preparing detailed drawings and engineering documentation and assisting with product development and validation activities. You will be hands‑on with projects from concept through to completion ensuring designs meet client specifications, internal quality standards and manufacturing requirements. Key Responsibilities Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviours in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture. Prepare detailed engineering drawings and designs for new and existing products. Support product development, research and process improvement initiatives. Lead or contribute to technical assessments and design validation activities. Create and maintain documentation such as Bills of Materials, test plans and manufacturing instructions. Provide CAD modelling and virtual prototyping support (2D / 3D). Offer technical advice to engineering, sales, production and quality teams. Participate in continuous improvement and innovation projects across the business. About you Diploma or Advanced Certificate in Engineering / Drafting (or equivalent). Experience in a manufacturing environment, particularly within the rail industry will be highly regarded. Strong CAD skills (2D and 3D modelling). Good understanding of materials, manufacturing processes and quality systems. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Self‑motivated with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
