Senior Associate, Turnaround and Restructuring

Senior Associate, Turnaround and Restructuring Join Ankura in a senior associate role focused on turnaround and restructuring services within our global consulting practice. This position supports the Turnaround and Restructuring (T&R) team in Sydney, which provides transaction advisory, restructuring and insolvency services for mid‑ to large‑corporate clients and capital providers. This role is part of a practice that began in late 2019 and is rapidly expanding. Ankura employs a client‑delivery model with a focus on high‑quality advisory services. Responsibilities Work on delivery of a range of advisory engagements – restructuring and debt advisory (both lender and company side), strategic advice, M&A, special situations transactions and safe harbour under the guidance of a senior team member. Attend to formal restructuring matters and work as part of a team on voluntary administrations, receiverships and other trading engagements. Assist with the sale of business processes in formal insolvency settings. Attend to statutory and compliance requirements. Prepare reports for clients and statutory bodies. Support pitches for both transaction and restructuring work from time to time. Requirements Good financial modelling skills, including the ability to build purpose‑built models such as cash‑flow forecasting and estimated outcome statements. Advanced written communication and strong report‑writing skills. Developed understanding of insolvency, restructuring and accounting principles, including statutory requirements for different types of engagements and strong financial analysis skills. Experience in restructuring and insolvency matters, including formal appointments. This level is equivalent to a Consultant / Senior Consultant at a Big 4 firm. Undergraduate degree in Commerce / Business with a major in Accounting and/or Finance. Completed or near completion of CA / CFA qualifications.
