Civil Works Leading Hand (Telecommunications) Join one of Victoria’s leading underground civil construction teams specialising in NBN and Telstra network delivery. At Astrotec Communications , we build the backbone of Australia’s telecommunications infrastructure — from pit and pipe works to under‑road boring and new development rollouts. About the Role We’re on the hunt for a skilled Lead Hand to join our growing team. You'll take the reins on high‑impact projects across Melbourne's southeast, leading crews on: NBN commercial pit and pipe construction Under‑road boring, concrete cutting and reinstatement Builder lead‑ins and network upgrades You’ll work across civil and utility environments, with a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and teamwork. What You’ll Need ✅ Proven experience in civil construction – ideally with comms, gas, power, or water ✅ MR Truck licence and excavator experience ✅ Hands‑on knowledge of under‑road boring, concrete cutting & reinstatement ✅ Class B Asbestos & Supervisor tickets (or willing to obtain – training available) ✅ Ability to read DBYD and NBN plans confidently ✅ Strong leadership, communication, and planning skills ✅ Must be based in Melbourne’s Eastern suburbs ✅ Valid Victorian Driver’s Licence and own vehicle ✅ White Card Why Join Astrotec?
