Team Leader - Waste and Resource Recovery Fixed Term – Full time position – 12 months Band 7: Circa $110k - $123k + 12% Superannuation Based in Doncaster East, Victoria Exciting opportunity for a highly experienced customer‑focused professional to join our positive and friendly team. You will be responsible for delivering waste services across the municipality, leading our team, providing outstanding customer service, applying contract management skills, and resolving complex problems. About The Role Our Waste and Resource Recovery Team is looking for an experienced, customer‑focused professional to lead our administration team, manage contracts, and support community education initiatives in the effective delivery of Waste Management and Litter Services. In this role, you will oversee the day‑to‑day operations of the Waste and Resource Recovery Team, including waste management functions, dumped litter and waste education programmes, ensuring contractual performance measures and reporting requirements are met. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the administrative team handling a high volume of waste service requests. Manage contracts and ensure compliance with performance measures. Support community education initiatives on waste management. Develop and deliver innovative programmes to reduce waste, increase recycling, and minimise contamination. Build strong relationships with stakeholders including the community, contractors, businesses and government agencies. Skills and Experience Tertiary qualified or extensive work experience in a relevant field. Highly experienced leader of a customer‑focused team delivering integrated resource recovery, waste management and sustainability services. Capable of developing and delivering work programmes and systems aligned with waste reforms, climate action and service delivery objectives. Flexible to respond to changing priorities and meet tight timeframes. Strong problem‑solver and negotiator, able to resolve complex operational and service delivery issues. Knowledgeable in government and local government organisations. Highly proficient in MS Office Suite, data management software and customer service request systems.
