About the Role The Reliability Specialist is responsible for delivering condition monitoring, predictive maintenance, and asset health programs to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient performance of critical plant equipment. The role focuses on identifying early signs of equipment deterioration through advanced monitoring techniques—including thermography, vibration analysis, oil analysis, ultrasound, and other diagnostic technologies—to enable proactive intervention before failures occur. Responsibilities provide day‑to‑day technical support to maintenance supervisors and trades during breakdowns and repairs; conduct regular condition monitoring activities including thermography, vibration analysis, oil sampling, and ultrasound inspections across critical plant assets; establish and maintain condition monitoring routes, ensuring timely collection of asset health data; identify early signs of equipment wear, deterioration, or abnormal behaviour, escalating findings based on risk and criticality; utilise asset monitoring tools and software (e.g., Emerson, SKF, Pruftechnik, Citect) to collect and interpret asset data; maintain the site’s asset health strategy in alignment with the reliability and maintenance framework; maintain accurate records to ensure auditability and compliance with company asset integrity standards; provide guidance and coaching to trades, supervisors, and engineers on condition monitoring practices; promote asset health awareness across the site, supporting a proactive reliability culture; share technical knowledge on thermography, vibration, and predictive maintenance methods. About the Candidate Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related discipline; OR Trade qualifications (Fitter, Mechanical Technician, or similar) with significant condition monitoring experience; Category II Vibration Analysis Certification (ISO Category II); Proficiency in thermography, vibration analysis, oil analysis, ultrasound, and other predictive maintenance techniques; Strong fault‑finding and diagnostic ability to interpret asset health data and detect early signs of equipment deterioration; Competency in developing and executing condition monitoring routes and schedules; Skilled in using asset health monitoring software and data acquisition systems (e.g., Emerson, SKF, Pruftechnik); Ability to apply reliability engineering concepts such as MTBF/MTTR analysis, FMEA/FMECA, and RCM; Advanced data analysis skills to translate monitoring results into actionable insights; Ability to conduct root cause analysis (RCA/ICAM) and recommend corrective actions; Strong decision‑making skills to prioritise findings and elevate critical asset risks; Solid understanding of WHS (Mines) Regulations and ability to integrate safety into asset health programmes; Thermography Certification (ASNT / ISO Category I or II).
