Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Advanced Manufacturing Job Details Salary (Levels): Lecturer - Level B: AUD $127,947 to $150,830 per annum + 17% superannuation Senior Lecturer – Level C: AUD $155,403 to $178,290 per annum + 17% superannuation Full time Location: Kensington, Sydney, Australia 2‑Year Convertible Tenure Track The Opportunity Join the School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering at UNSW in a teaching and research role. As a Lecturer (Level B), you will develop your scholarly research and professional activities nationally and internationally while contributing to the School’s teaching and service missions. As a Senior Lecturer (Level C), you will establish an internationally recognised research programme, strengthen industry partnerships, and drive impactful research and innovation in thermo‑mechanical engineering. Responsibilities Develop and deliver undergraduate and postgraduate courses in advanced manufacturing. Conduct independent research in advanced composite materials, additive manufacturing, nano‑ and micro‑fabrication, smart design for manufacturing, sustainable manufacturing, and robotics. Establish and sustain industry collaborations to translate research outcomes into practical solutions. Publish research findings in high‑impact journals and present at international conferences. Engage in service activities within the School, Faculty and university. Provide supervision to research students and maintain compliance with UNSW health and safety policies. Qualifications & Experience Lecturer (Level B) PhD in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Aerospace, or Robotics Engineering. Demonstrated expertise in modern manufacturing processes (advanced metals, composites, nano‑ and micro‑fabrication).Experience translating research outcomes into practical products. Ability to develop alternative delivery models for teaching, including online and blended learning. Excellent communication skills and team‑working ability across disciplines. Willingness to undertake compliance and supervisor training. Ability to implement UNSW health and safety policies and procedures. Senior Lecturer (Level C) PhD in a relevant field with a strong record of advanced manufacturing research. Extensive experience translating research into industry solutions and attracting research funding. Experience supervising research students and managing research projects. Excellent communication and networking skills. Willingness to undertake compliance and supervisor training. Ability to implement UNSW health and safety policies and procedures. Skills & Experience Expertise in advanced metals and composites, nano‑ and micro‑fabrication, smart design for manufacturing, micro‑electronic systems, and robotic manufacturing. Proven record of successful research funding acquisition. Strong teaching and curriculum development skills. Collaboration across disciplines and engagement with industry partners.
