Lecturer / Senior Lecturer in Advanced Manufacturing Position: Lecturer – Level B; Senior Lecturer – Level C Salary: Lecturer – Level B, AUD $127,947 to $150,830 per annum + 17% superannuation; Senior Lecturer – Level C, AUD $155,403 to $178,290 per annum + 17% superannuation Employment type: Full time Location: Kensington – Sydney, Australia Term: 2-Year Convertible Tenure Track Overview Join the School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering in the Faculty of Engineering at UNSW as a Lecturer / Senior Lecturer in a teaching and research role. As a Lecturer (Level B), you will develop scholarly research and professional activities nationally and internationally, while contributing to the teaching and service missions of the School and Faculty. As a Senior Lecturer (Level C), you will establish an internationally recognised research program and strengthen industry partnerships, driving impactful research and innovative advancements in thermo‑mechanical engineering. We are seeking a candidate with a proven research background and strong educational experience in advanced manufacturing engineering. The role may focus on, but is not limited to, the following areas: modern manufacturing processes for advanced composites and metals, nano‑ and micro‑fabrication, smart design for manufacturing, sustainable and green manufacturing, and robotic manufacturing. Responsibilities Develop and publish scholarly research nationally and internationally; contribute to teaching, curriculum development, and service activities; collaborate with industry partners; manage research funding and projects; supervise research students; promote inclusive and excellent learning environments. Qualifications Lecturer (Level B) PhD in an area of direct relevance, including Manufacturing, Mechanical, Aerospace, and Robotics Engineering. Demonstrated ability and track record in modern manufacturing processes, including advanced metals and composites, nano‑ and micro‑fabrication, smart design for manufacturing, microelectronic systems, and robotic manufacturing. Proven experience in translating research results into practical outcomes. Demonstrated capacity for development of alternative delivery models for teaching, including online and blended delivery. High level communication skills and ability to network effectively with a diverse range of students and staff. Ability to work in a team and collaborate across disciplines. Willingness to undertake compliance and supervisor training as required. Ability to implement UNSW health and safety policies and procedures. Senior Lecturer (Level C) PhD in an area of direct relevance, including Manufacturing, Mechanical, Aerospace, and Robotics Engineering. Extensive experience in modern manufacturing technologies, including advanced metals and composites, nano‑ and micro‑fabrication, smart design for manufacturing, micro‑electronic systems, and robotic manufacturing. Proven track record in translating research results into practical outcomes and in attracting research funding from governmental and/or industrial sectors. Demonstrated capacity for development of alternative delivery models for teaching, including online and blended delivery. Excellent level communication skills and ability to network effectively with a diverse range of students and staff. Demonstrated ability to work in a team and build effective relationships; experience supervising research students. Willingness to undertake compliance and supervisor training as required. Ability to implement UNSW health and safety policies and procedures; understanding of and commitment to UNSW aims, objectives and values; knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and commitment to training.
