Could you be an advocate for the use of empirical evidence and analysis to support a cost-effective and people-centred justice system?The Law and Justice Foundation of NSW, an independent statutory body advancing access to justice for the people of NSW, is looking for a new Research Director to contribute to an exciting program of work and lead an enthusiastic and highly skilled research team.About the roleProvides professional support and leadership to a small team of qualitative and quantitative researchers and analystsInforms the strategic direction of the Foundation, in collaboration with the Director and its BoardDelivers high-quality, relevant and accessible research to support the legal assistance and broader justice sectorSupports the Director in the functioning of the Foundation and in delivering on its organisational strategyTertiary and post graduate qualification(s) in the social sciences, law and/or statisticsA career history of designing, conducting, publishing, and presenting high quality empirical research in government, academia, consultancy, or not-for-profit organisation(s)High degree of expertise in designing, planning and costing robust and realistic qualitative and quantitative research intended for real world applicationOver five years successfully managing and leading a team to deliver complex programs of work in a senior leadership capacityStrong track record of working strategically to identify and capitalise on opportunities to apply research and evidence for good purposeDemonstrated experience working collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders, to support high-quality research and knowledge sharingAn adept understanding of the legal and justice sector of AustraliaWhat we are offeringA hybrid work environment with an office based conveniently in the Sydney CBDFull-time or part-time (0.8+ FTE) opportunity with flexible working hoursSalary starting at $150,000 + superannuation, dependent on experience3 days’ bonus paid Recognition Leave over the end of year shutdown periodHow to applyTo apply for this role, please send the following to
