Position: Clerk Grade 6/7, Salary ($107,131 – $116,969 pa), plus employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading. Ongoing, Full time. Location: Taree. This is a targeted recruitment. While all applicants are welcome, preference will be given to candidates who meet the established standards of the role and are of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent. Your role As a Youth Justice Caseworker, you will provide front‑line services to young people at the Taree Youth Justice Community Office. This involves delivering a range of quality services to detainees, youth justice conferencing clients, victims of crime, court‑mandated young people and their families. You will work as part of a multi‑disciplinary team that aims to reduce re‑offending, enhance functioning and support reintegration. What You’ll Do Undertake case‑management activities that target appropriate areas of need/risk to the young person’s re‑offending. This includes case planning, organising and facilitating case conferences and delivering offence‑focused intervention programmes. Work collaboratively with Youth Justice staff such as other caseworkers, youth officers and psychologists, alongside government and non‑government stakeholders to connect young people to services appropriate to their individual case plan and monitor progress. Work closely with courts, parole authorities, review panels and legal professionals, providing clear and concise advice, briefings, reports and other formal written communication. Use structured screening and assessment tools to identify risks and needs of young people and determine the level and types of interventions required, including family and crisis interventions. Monitor outcome plans and case plans for compliance and progress in line with required operational standards and facilitate further actions as required. Maintain the integrity of information systems with accurate, up‑to‑date client data to support effective case management and decision‑making. Provide young people and families with tools, information and support to create positive change and contribute productively within their community. Support the therapeutic goals of Youth Justice services by actively engaging in behaviour management strategies for young people and fostering reflective practice among staff. Demonstrate flexibility in response to change and ensure compliance with departmental policies, procedures, standards and best practice guidelines. What We’re Looking For Diploma or higher tertiary qualifications in social work, welfare, psychology, criminology, education or a related field, or equivalent experience. Current NSW Working with Children Clearance. Current NSW Driver’s Licence. Willingness and ability to travel across regional and rural areas to engage with clients, as required by the role.
