Security Guard (Maritime & Critical Infrastructure) Location : Newcastle Employment Type : Full‑Time Shiftworker Roster : 4‑On / 4‑Off Roster | 12 hour shifts (day and night) Join a professional and growing team protecting Newcastle's most critical maritime and infrastructure facilities. NHN Group is seeking highly motivated Maritime & Critical Infrastructure Security Guards to deliver high‑standard access control, patrol, and monitoring services. Role Overview Monitor and control access at the gatehouse, ensuring only authorised personnel and vehicles enter secure zones. Verify compliance and conduct ID and credential checks in line with site protocols. Provide professional, consistent coverage at the gatehouse and support shift transitions. Record gatehouse activities and interactions accurately using logbooks or electronic systems. Respond to incidents or access breaches occurring near the gatehouse and follow emergency protocols. Report any operational concerns or suspicious behaviour to the Site Supervisor. Represent the security team with professionalism and courtesy when interacting with users. Conduct scheduled vehicle patrols of the port precinct, including perimeter fencing, berths, storage areas, and infrastructure zones. Respond rapidly to alarms, breaches, or suspicious behaviour during patrols and secure incident scenes as needed. Perform roving access checks to confirm all personnel and vehicles in secure areas are compliant. Maintain accurate and detailed patrol and incident reports in line with SOPs. Carry out regular welfare checks on static security officers stationed at gatehouses. Identify and report trends, hazards, or improvement areas to enhance the security program. Act as a mobile deterrent to unauthorised access and provide a visible security presence across the site. About You To be considered for this role, you must have: A current Security Licence. A valid Provide First Aid Certificate. A current driver’s licence and reliable transport.
