Full Time | Hedland, WA | Fixed Term to end of 2026 Be part of an exciting new pilot program in the Pilbara. Join us at the very beginning of the Multicultural Health Navigation Service (MHNS) — a brand‑new service funded by the WA Primary Health Alliance (WAPHA), designed to help people from culturally and linguistically diverse (CaLD) backgrounds access primary health care. This is a rare opportunity to help build a service from the ground up and play a key role in shaping how it operates in Hedland and, later, across the wider region. About the Role We are seeking a proactive, community-focused Senior Health Navigator to support the launch and delivery of the MHNS in Hedland. This is a unique role with future leadership responsibilities . As the service grows, you will play a key part in supporting the recruitment of additional Multicultural Health Navigators and providing day‑to‑day guidance and support as the team expands. Reporting to the Program Manager, you will work closely together to help establish the service, engage with local stakeholders, and support clients to connect with GPs, allied health, social services, and other essential care. This role is varied, hands‑on and people‑centred — perfect for someone who enjoys helping others, solving problems, and working within the community. Please note, this position does not come with housing. Applicants must be based in, or willing to self‑relocate to Port or South Hedland. Key Responsibilities Support the setup and rollout of the MHNS pilot in Hedland. Assist with recruiting and building the future Health Navigator team. Engage with community members, health providers and local organisations. Provide one‑on‑one support to clients to help them navigate the health system. Assist with referrals, appointment coordination, interpreter use and practical system navigation. Participate in community co‑design and engagement activities. Maintain accurate records and client data for reporting requirements. Complete ongoing training in cultural competency and client‑centred care. About You We’re looking for someone who is compassionate, organised and confident working with people from diverse cultural backgrounds. You will have: Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Experience in community services, health, social care or similar (formal qualifications not essential). Ability to work independently and as part of a small team. Good computer skills and confidence using client databases. A current driver’s licence. Highly regarded: Qualifications or experience in nursing, allied health, health promotion, or community services. Experience supporting CaLD communities or working cross‑culturally. Why Join Us? Be part of an innovative pilot improving health equity in the Pilbara. Opportunity to shape how a brand‑new service is designed and delivered. Supportive, flexible working environment with a small regional team. Professional development, including cultural competency and health navigation training. Competitive salary (based on experience) + superannuation. How to Apply Please submit your CV and a brief cover letter outlining why you’re interested and how your experience aligns with the role.
