Through a large network of centres across Australia, they invest heavily in quality programs, strong governance, and the people who make it all happen. You will be joining a values-driven team that is big enough to offer genuine complexity and scale, yet still close-knit enough that your work is visible. Collaboration, continual improvement, and "serious fun" are part of how they operate, with finance seen as a genuine partner to operations, not just a back‑office function. With a sharpened focus on financial performance, transparency, and growth, they are now looking for an experienced Finance Manager to lead the financial reporting function and support the next phase of their journey. The Role Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will own the day-to-day running of the financial reporting function and be a key advisor to senior leadership. This is a hands‑on leadership role where you'll balance team development, technical depth, and continuous improvement. Key responsibilities include Leading and developing a high‑performing finance team and fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement Overseeing day-to-day financial operations, including transactional accounting, banking, capital management, cash flow analysis and forecasting Managing the month‑end close and preparation of income statement, balance sheet, cash flow and reconciliations Owning monthly management reporting, including detailed variance analysis and commentary for the Executive Leadership Team and Board Ensuring robust tax and regulatory compliance across GST, PAYG, Payroll Tax and FBT, and coordinating with external tax advisers as needed Managing the preparation and maintenance of bank reporting, including covenant compliance certificates and treasury controls Coordinating annual external audits to ensure timely completion and clean audit outcomes, including statutory accounts and supporting workpapers Providing technical accounting advice, including preparation of discussion papers on emerging accounting issues and operational impacts Taking ownership of ERP administration, including chart of accounts, dimensions, period management and resolving system issues Driving process and systems improvements across finance, reducing manual work, improving data quality and enabling early visibility of accurate information Working closely with the Grants and Funding teams to ensure government funding and subsidies are appropriately spent, tracked, acquitted and audit‑ready About You You are an experienced finance leader who enjoys owning the numbers from end to end, and you are just as comfortable in the detail as you are presenting insights to executives and the Board. You get energy from building and mentoring teams, tightening controls, and finding smarter ways of working. You combine strong technical accounting capability with a commercial mindset, and you enjoy using systems and data to drive better decisions, not just to "tick the box". Experience in a multi‑site environment, education, healthcare or similar regulated sector will be highly regarded, but is not essential. Skills & Experience Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline CA or CPA qualified 5+ years' experience in financial accounting, including at least 2 years in a similar Finance Manager or Senior Financial Accountant role Strong knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards, financial reporting and consolidations Proven experience managing month-end, statutory reporting and external audits for a complex, multi-entity environment Solid understanding of tax compliance requirements including GST, PAYG, Payroll Tax and FBT Experience managing and developing a small to medium sized finance team Advanced Excel skills and strong ERP literacy, with experience administering or improving financial systems Demonstrated ability to improve processes, strengthen internal controls and enhance the quality and timeliness of reporting Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to present to senior stakeholders and explain complex issues in a clear, practical way Experience working with government funding, grants or similar compliance frameworks will be viewed favourably What's on Offer A pivotal Finance Manager role with genuine ownership of the financial reporting function Direct exposure to the Head of Finance, CFO, Executive Leadership Team and Board The opportunity to lead, shape and develop a capable finance team Involvement in ongoing systems, process and reporting improvements across the group A values-driven culture where people development, professionalism and "serious fun" are all encouraged Flexible work arrangements, including the option to work from home one day per week Apply Now If you are a technically strong, people-focused Finance Manager looking to step into a visible role where your work really matters, we would love to hear from you.
