Job Summary Location – Coffs Harbour Full‑time temporary opportunity until 30 June 2027 (35 hours per week) Salary from $113,574 to $125,720 pa + super and annual leave loading Diverse and inclusive organisation with generous leave entitlements including flex leave and access to Fitness Passport This position is open to Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people only. Your Role As the Aboriginal Service Support Specialist, you’ll deliver personalised support to vulnerable Aboriginal people, working within established program guidelines while remaining flexible to individual and community needs. In the Services Our Way (SOW) program, you’ll work closely with clients experiencing complex challenges, as well as local service providers and community networks, to ensure a coordinated and holistic approach to support. Responsibilities Working within a team responsible for delivering tailored support to vulnerable Aboriginal individuals and families in targeted locations, under the direction of the Place Manager, within a trauma‑informed framework. Effectively establishing trust and working with vulnerable clients to identify and respond flexibly to individual and family needs within defined program guidelines and in partnership with other service providers. Consistently evaluating individual practices to ensure alignment with program guidelines, while identifying areas for development and fostering a culture of support and continuous improvement. Developing and maintaining effective stakeholder relationships across service providers and the AHO, while actively engaging in localised networking opportunities. Maintaining an understanding of regional issues that may impact on the program outcomes. Balancing competing priorities to meet client and program needs within the programme guidelines. Qualifications & Experience Minimum of 2 years experience providing culturally appropriate support to Aboriginal communities. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build trust and collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to work within a trauma‑informed framework and adapt interventions to meet individual client needs. Knowledge of the local service network and regional issues affecting Aboriginal families in the Clarence Valley, Coffs Harbour, Bellingen, Nambucca Valley and Kempsey areas.
