Teacher – Early Childhood Education Fixed‑term: 36 months, full‑time, commencing Term 1, 2026. School & Community Halls Creek District High School (DHS) is located in the Central Kimberley Region between Broome and Kununurra. Most students come from the town of Halls Creek and the communities of Mardiwa Loop and Nicholson Block. A few students commute from several family communities within 20 km of Halls Creek, Koongie Park Station (20 km) and Lamboo Station (40 km). DHS has an enrolment of approximately 320 students across Kindergarten to Year 12, with a 98 % Aboriginal enrolment. It is part of the Kimberley Schools Project and is committed to attracting, recruiting, and coaching teachers to master explicit teaching pedagogy. In remote teaching service schools, teachers deliver flexible and innovative education programs to ensure students in isolated parts of the state have access to high‑quality learning. Teaching in a remote school offers professional opportunities for teachers who are engaging, resilient, and flexible. Skills in literacy, numeracy, and English as an Additional Language/Dialect (EAL/D) are highly valued. Role The successful applicant will be highly motivated, innovative and enthusiastic in the promotion of Physical Education and Health within the school, and will be responsible for coordinating and organising all school sporting events. Additional responsibilities include: Developing positive relationships and high expectations for all students. Managing the Physical and Health Education component of the WA Curriculum and reporting schedule. Collaborating with school staff to integrate physical and health education across the curriculum. Knowledge and competency in the Physical and Health Education component of the WA Curriculum and reporting schedule is highly desirable. Professional Benefits Country Teaching Program Allowance of $15 370 per year. District allowance of $7 436 per year. Teachers and school administrators employed at Halls Creek District High School in 2026 are eligible to receive a temporary Attraction and Retention Incentive of $3 000 (gross, pro‑rata for FTE and tenure). Staff must remain employed in the location until the end of the school year to receive the second payment. Eligibility Hold an eligible teacher qualification and registration. Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
