Patient Services Assistant

The Opportunity We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Patient Services Assistant to join our Internal Patient Transport team. This role will see you supporting patients and the clinical teams across multiple hospital departments. In this rewarding role, you will play a key part in ensuring patient comfort, dignity, and safety while contributing to the smooth operation of the hospital. Shifts when available cover the 24 period 7 days a week ranging from 6.5hrs to 9.5hrs in length. Key Responsibilities Safely transport patients using hospital-approved equipment and vehicles. Assist with patient transfers and manual handling (using aides where required). Support clinical teams during patient admissions, transfers, and emergencies. Clean and maintain equipment within the department. Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in patient areas in line with infection control standards. About You You thrive in a busy hospital environment, adapt quickly to changing demands, and consistently uphold the highest standards of care and professionalism. To be successful, you will have: Certificate III in Health Services Assistance, Aged Care, or Care Support (desirable). Recent experience in an acute hospital or clinical setting. Strong understanding of infection control, manual handling, and hospital safety procedures. Excellent communication, teamwork, and time management skills. Flexibility to work a 7-day rotating roster, including evenings, nights, and on-call shifts. Currently studying Nursing (Year 2 or 3 preferably). Certificate IV in Health Services Assistance or Aged Care. Remuneration Base Hourly Rates in accordance with Enterprise Agreement + superannuation based on experience level and qualifications, exclusive of penalties or allowances.
