Be part of a flagship government program delivering Australia's next-generation secure cloud and collaboration platforms. About the role As an Azure & VDI Engineer , you will play a key role in designing and delivering secure cloud hosting and modern desktop services. You will architect Azure Landing Zones , implement Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (Windows 365 and Azure Virtual Desktop) , and ensure seamless integration with Microsoft 365 and secure identity frameworks. This is a highly technical role requiring expertise across Azure cloud, endpoint security, and large-scale virtual desktop deployments. Key responsibilities Design and implement Azure Landing Zones for secure, scalable hosting. Deploy and manage Windows 365 and Azure Virtual Desktop services. Integrate VDI with M365 environments and secure identity/access controls . Ensure alignment with government multi‑cloud and cyber security strategies. Automate provisioning, scaling, and monitoring of cloud resources. Optimise VDI performance and user experience . Extended technical responsibilities Secure Azure integration and private access solutions. Device onboarding and compliance enforcement. Patch and update management across the platform. Implementation of cross‑platform security controls . Define and maintain business continuity and disaster recovery (BCDR) posture . Manage retention vs backup strategies and encryption key management . Skills & experience Strong experience designing and deploying Azure cloud environments . Expertise with Windows 365 and Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) . Knowledge of identity and access management frameworks (e.g. Entra ID, conditional access, Zero Trust). Familiarity with government security standards (ISM, PSPF, IRAP) or equivalent. Skills in automation, scripting, and infrastructure‑as‑code . Experience monitoring and optimising VDI performance and security . Australian citizenship with an active security clearance (NV1 or higher) is essential. Contribute to a program of national significance . Work across both cloud architecture and VDI engineering in a high‑impact role.
