Established in 1987, Macro Meat Processing Pty Ltd, is a fast-growing innovative company and controls the world's largest retail distribution of kangaroo meat as the exclusive supplier of fresh kangaroo meat to all major supermarket chains in Australia. It is also a large exporter of wild game meats to many countries worldwide. The company currently employs 200 staff at the processing facilities in Athol Park. About the Role Working closely with the Production Manager, you’ll be responsible for achieving maximum productivity, managing staff and workflow, and maintaining a safe, high-performing workplace. You'll also work closely with other key departments including QA, Maintenance, and Distribution. Key Responsibilities Manage day-to-day production operations in line with KPIs Oversee staffing, planning, and labour utilisation Drive safety, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives Ensure compliance with HACCP, WHS, GMP, and other standards Conduct training, risk assessments, and performance reviews Maintain a collaborative relationship with internal teams What We’re Looking For Proven experience in a production leadership role, ideally in meat processing. Strong understanding of HACCP, food safety, and quality systems Excellent communication, planning, and problem-solving skills Ability to lead team and manage high-pressure production targets Team oriented with a positive attitude Hard working and responsible Knowledge of yields, weights, and product flow in meat processing highly regarded Compulsory drug and alcohol screening required. Must have own transport to work. Must be able to speak and understand English. Possess or willing to obtain Q Fever vaccination.
