Join the team We have an exciting opportunity for a Product Designer to join our team to develop and refine digital products that solve user problems, enhance user engagement, and meet business objectives through innovative and effective design solutions. You will leverage user research and data analysis to inform design decisions, ensuring the creation of products that align with user needs and market trends. What you’ll be doing Establish and communicate a clear design vision that supports the overall product strategy and contributes to the roadmap for Kmart & Target Harmonise technological feasibility, user requirements, and business goals to deliver well-rounded, practical design solutions Work closely with tech, trade, marketing, SEO and other stakeholders to integrate design research, data, and market analysis into the product development process Apply UX/UI principles to enhance product usability and satisfaction, ensuring designs are user-friendly and meet regulatory standards Advocate for and implement industry best practices and emerging trends in design Share insights and knowledge through presentations, workshops, and internal communications to inspire and educate the team, contributing to the Kmart Group's centre of design excellence To be successful in this role you’ll have: Minimum 3 years’ experience and proven track record in designing and shipping digital products and systems that solve real problems used by a diverse range of people Experience in enhancing the UX of complex systems, paying special attention to the touchpoints and functionality across all phases of the product lifecycle Appreciation and understanding of the entire product development process, from problem-solving and system modelling to detailed UI, visual, and interaction design Skilled in creating wireframes, high-fidelity mock-ups, and interactive prototypes using modern design tools such as Figma Understanding of component-based design systems that can be applied at scale Extensive experience with design tools and solid understanding of user-centred design principles, including conducting and applying user research Ability to communicate the rationale behind design proposals and explain complex design problems to people across the company We are looking for a motivated self-starter with a growth mindset who can collaborate deeply with product management, engineering and analytics, comfortable with ambiguity, and focused on continuous improvement.
