Overview Main duties and expectations of our volunteering role: Provide a welcoming,kind,and supportive human connection to all court users (witnesses, victims, accused, and family and friends) Actively engage with court users, either face to face or virtually, supporting and assisting them to navigateand fully participate intheir court experience Recogniseand respond toindividualservice user needsand concerns Provide service userswith support, information and referral options and choices Promote service user safety Work independently as well as within a team Follow instructions and practice guidelines Have good digital literacy and confidence; record keeping, emailing, communication and information sharing Adhere to privacy policy requirements Our volunteersmust have strong verbal andinterpersonalcommunication skills, confidence using technology (CRM, digital communication- email, internet searching (laptop or tablet) Smart phone Apps) and the ability to foster inclusivity and a person-centred approach tosupportingall court users, impartially and non-judgementally. This multifaceted and interesting roleisbest suited to someone who is proactive, a people-person, passionate aboutimproving access to justice andiswantingto volunteer on anongoingand regularbasis. Category Community Services Commitment Regular - more than 6 months Time Required One day per week, regular volunteering, preferably weekly or fortnightly 9am-5pm Monday, Wednesday or Thursday Training A comprehensive 12-week program is provided to all trainee Networkers (Volunteers) Be careful - Don’t provide your bank or credit card details when applying for jobs.
