As a Tech Lead (Engineering) at PlayHQ, you will play a crucial role in driving the technical direction and implementation of our cutting-edge software solutions. This is a full-time position based in our modern Melbourne office. As a tech leader, you will be responsible for guiding a team of talented engineers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, innovative products that meet the evolving needs of our clients. What you'll be doing Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of software engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment. Contribute to the design and architecture of complex software systems, ensuring they are scalable, maintainable, and secure. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers and designers, to translate business requirements into technical solutions. Identify and implement best practices, tools, and processes to improve development efficiency and code quality. Participate in code reviews, refactoring, and debugging to ensure the codebase remains robust and reliable. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and technologies, and drive the adoption of innovative solutions. Mentor and develop junior engineers, helping them grow their skills and reach their full potential. What we're looking for Significant experience (5+ years) as a software engineer or tech lead, with a strong background in modern web development technologies and frameworks. Expertise in designing and implementing scalable, high-performance software systems. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to break down complex problems and devise creative solutions. Strong teamwork and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team of engineers. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams. A passion for staying up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies, and a desire to continually learn and grow.
