The Role An exciting opportunity has arisen in our Melbourne Corporate Advisory Team for a Senior Associate or Special Counsel who has developed a particular strength in Private M&A (with Public M&A and ECM expertise also desirable). Experience in cross-border investment and transactions, corporate governance, the provision of Corporations Act advice, and general corporate and commercial experience is also desirable. Our Corporate Advisory Team is known for providing high quality and commercially astute advice on all aspects of corporate law, with a specific focus on private and public M&A transactions and equity capital markets fundraisings. We are a growing team that is regularly adding new clients domiciled within Australia or in overseas jurisdictions, with strong experience across a range of sector including energy and resources, aviation, logistics, telecommunications, media and technology, biotech and healthcare, pharmacy, aged care and retail. We are seeking to add to our team an experienced corporate lawyer who has an interest in developing skills, building networks, and playing a lead role on key aspects of our transactional work. We can offer you recognition for any portable practice that you may have (though this is not required). We will work with you to develop your practice in a supportive and collaborative environment. Who We Are Looking For The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years’ experience from a reputable corporate and commercial law practice. We are looking for a lawyer that has the ability to work closely with partners and clients in a collaborative team environment. You will have a strong understanding of corporate law and M&A best practices, as well as excellent drafting skills, a focus on client service, and a strong work ethic. You will also have an ability to take a lead role on matters and drive them forward, and be a team player with excellent communication skills.
