Positional Overview The SEWB coordinator is responsible for the provision of high quality culturally safe, trauma informed brief intervention counselling to Stolen Generations survivors regarding WA Stolen Generations redress scheme. Key Responsibilities Provide high quality brief intervention counselling and mental health services to clients impacted or triggered by WA Stolen Generations redress scheme process & application. Maintain high-quality case notes and reports. Provide SEWB support at community meetings & gatherings around redress. Support ongoing development and delivery of evidence-based healing strategies and practices specific to Stolen Generations. Act only in ways that advance YOKAI objectives, values, and reputation and with honesty, integrity, and good faith. Provide education and preventative tools to help Elders protect themselves from financial abuse, coercion, scams, and undue influence. Refer & link community member to appropriate supports. Guide & support wellbeing support officer. Qualifications & Experience Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal people and the ability to communicate effectively and in a culturally appropriate manner. Demonstrated knowledge of current issues, standards, and trends in the delivery of mental health and social and emotional wellbeing services to Aboriginal people. Demonstrated awareness and knowledge of issues impacting those affected by Stolen Generations' policies and practices. Demonstrated ability to work within and maintain strict confidentiality guidelines and policies. Awareness of and ability to work to BTHWA’s mission of truth, justice and healing as well as WASGAC’s strategic objectives. Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with clients, carers, and other professionals from diverse cultures. Identify as Aboriginal. Current or previous experience working in a mental health setting. Current or previous experience working in an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation. Diploma or above qualification in a field relevant to the role. #J-18808-Ljbffr
