What you'll do : As a People and Culture Officer, you will become an integral part of a collaborative team dedicated to supporting employees through every stage of their journey. Your day-to-day responsibilities will see you acting as a trusted point of contact for HR queries—ensuring each request is handled with care, accuracy, and confidentiality. You will prepare critical documentation that underpins employment relationships while also playing an active role in evaluating positions fairly. By leveraging your analytical skills, you will generate insightful reports that empower leaders to make well-informed decisions. Your commitment to maintaining robust systems will ensure data integrity across all records. Additionally, you will have the chance to drive positive change by recommending improvements that enhance efficiency across people processes. Manage the People and Culture inbox by triaging emails, providing timely HR advice, and responding to complex employee queries with professionalism and empathy. Offer guidance to employees on industrial instruments and organisational policies while escalating matters appropriately to the HR Business Partner team when necessary. Prepare essential HR documentation such as employment contracts, higher duties letters, probation confirmations, flexible work arrangements, and communications regarding position changes. Conduct balanced job evaluations based on position descriptions while adhering to organisational design principles; provide clear advice to leaders on evaluation outcomes. Utilise salary data to make informed remuneration recommendations for new employees under Common Law Contracts. Collate and analyse HR data to produce regular and bespoke reports and dashboards for leaders and the People and Culture Team, supporting informed decision-making. Partner with the HR Business Partner team during periods of change to ensure all processes, documents, and records related to employee movements are accurately reflected in HR systems. Maintain data integrity within the HR system by ensuring accurate employee records are kept up-to-date, including the organisation chart. Track document-controlled procedures and advise procedure owners when reviews are required; ensure all HR Operations information is current on the intranet. Support process improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities for efficiency gains in work instructions, policies, procedures, and contribute actively to their implementation. You bring proven expertise in preparing detailed documentation that meets compliance standards alongside practical knowledge of employment law. Familiarity with advanced digital tools enhances your ability to streamline reporting processes. Tertiary qualification in Human Resource Management or a related discipline or equivalent combination of education and demonstrated previous experience is essential for this role. Well‑developed communication skills—both written and oral—with the ability to interact positively with stakeholders at all levels while maintaining confidentiality and discretion are crucial. A high level of attention to detail combined with a passion for delivering work of exceptional quality is expected from successful candidates. Practical knowledge of relevant HR legislation, regulations, and policy frameworks ensures you can provide compliant advice at all times. Strong organisational abilities paired with effective time management skills enable you to manage competing priorities without compromising deadlines or quality. Demonstrated experience maintaining accurate HR systems and employee records supports operational excellence within the team. Alignment with core organisational values such as integrity, respect, care, and courage is fundamental for success in this environment. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) as well as familiarity with PowerBI or Copilot would be advantageous but not mandatory. Experience in remuneration benchmarking or position evaluation along with a track record of recommending improvements to cyclical human resource practices would be considered desirable.
