About the role Reporting to the Mobile Maintenance Supervisor, the Mechanic is responsible for maintaining mobile equipment to ensure safe, reliable and efficient operations across site. You will play a key role in supporting the mobile maintenance team by performing diagnostics, repairs, and routine servicing on a variety of surface and underground machinery. Key responsibilities include: Performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on mobile equipment including heavy surface, underground and light vehicles Conducting breakdown repairs, component change‑outs, and fault diagnostics including hydraulic and air‑conditioning systems Operating service and fuel trucks to complete daily servicing and repairs Ensuring all maintenance work is accurately recorded in the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) Assisting with training and mentoring apprentices and supporting contractor activities Contributing to a strong safety culture through completion of JSEAs, hazard reporting and participation in safety initiatives About you The ideal candidate is a qualified Diesel Fitter who takes pride in doing things safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. You bring solid experience working with heavy mobile equipment, ideally in mining or a similar heavy industrial environment. You have the skills to diagnose and repair hydraulic, mechanical, and auto‑electrical faults, and are confident using maintenance systems like CMMS to plan and record your work. You will also have or be willing to obtain your S1, S2, S3 Supervisor training, and hold relevant high‑risk licences such as forklift or rigger. You enjoy sharing your knowledge with apprentices, supporting your crew, and contributing to a team that values reliability, accountability, and continuous improvement.
