Technical (Data) Business Analyst – Contract – 6 months – Brisbane Our client is seeking a Technical Business Analyst to support ongoing Data Modernisation projects on a 6‑Month Contract starting in January 2026. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of business and technology, ensuring solutions meet evolving organisational needs. Location: Brisbane, AustraliaType: Contract Role Overview We are seeking a Technical Business Analyst to support the migration of on‑prem SQL databases to Microsoft Azure. This is a hands‑on, technical BA role at the intersection of data engineering, cloud platforms, and business stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Elicit, analyse, and document functional and non‑functional requirements for migrating SQL databases to Azure. Work with architects and engineers on solutions leveraging Azure SQL / Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory (ADF), and Databricks. Translate business and data requirements into data models, source‑to‑target mappings, pipeline and transformation logic. Support Azure DevOps: backlog management, user stories, acceptance criteria, sprint planning and delivery tracking. Lead and coordinate UAT activities: define UAT scope, scenarios, test cases; support defect triage and resolution; validate data accuracy, reconciliation, and quality. Act as a bridge between business users, data teams, and cloud engineers, ensuring alignment on outcomes and constraints. Required Skills & Experience Strong experience as a Technical Business Analyst in data‑centric environments. Proven experience working on cloud data migrations, ideally from on‑prem SQL to Microsoft Azure. Solid understanding of SQL databases (querying, schema, performance concepts), Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and Azure DevOps. Experience documenting data flows, data transformations, integration and interface specifications. Hands‑on involvement in UAT planning and execution. Strong stakeholder management across technical and non‑technical audiences.
