BDM - Chemical Water Treatment

THE ROLE As with all sales roles, the key element of this position is to drive new business sales and then repeat customer purchases by facilitating the sales through our strong and completely established distributor network. Your core focus will be to generate interest and understanding in potential customers and lead the sales process to close, after which the order is passed through to a sales order and ongoing orders with our partners. Given the response from customers to date, it will primarily be about appointment setting and consulting prospects to get pilot programmes established, which will then lead to engagement and sales conversion. Target markets will be in the municipal, industrial, agriculture and recreational water areas. There will be a blend of new business contacts as well as an established customer base to leverage. You will need to liaise with relevant authorities such as the EPA to smooth the way for finalising sales. You will also be the contact to guarantee any questions around the technical application are answered promptly. ABOUT YOU We are looking for a high‑performing BDM who truly understands the sales process and can build out a territory. You must have a chemical background – applied chemistry or chemical engineering – and strong sales skills. A network within councils, agriculture sectors, and possibly recreational water will be advantageous. Above all, you must possess strong principles in prospecting, lead generation, and running an entire sales process to close.
