Head of Engineering - Hands on Ruby on Rails Pair People have partnered with a scaling business who are looking for a talented Head of Engineering to lead a high-performing team and drive the evolution of a modern engineering function. The role offers the chance to oversee a critical building of their engineering team, while embedding AI tools into the development lifecycle and incorporating data-driven decisioning across products and platforms. This is a SaaS platform that is in the Healthcare space and is being used by over 2k practitioners and provides data-driven outcomes. What you’ll be doing: Defining and communicating the engineering & AI vision aligned with business goals. Ability to be hands on Ruby on Rails | React with coding initially, as the team grows this element will reduce. Bringing outsourced engineering (Aus) internally as you build the team. Driving delivery across multiple initiatives, including AI integrations. Leading and mentoring a team of 4 engineers and establishing engineering best practices, modern DevOps, and CI/CD. Ensuring scalable, secure, and responsible adoption of emerging technologies. Your Experience: Proven leadership experience as Head of Engineering or Engineering Manager within a SaaS platform. Strong technical background in Ruby on Rails and React, with experience leading platform migrations. Hands-on experience with integrating AI tooling to the development lifecycle. Skilled in Agile/Scrum and modern software delivery practices. Strong communicator who can bridge technical and non-technical stakeholders.
